A Peek Into Our Classes

We offer 50-minute Vinyasa Flow and Gentle Stretching yoga classes. Our classes are taught at a beginner's level, but modifications are cued for more advanced moves when you are ready to take your practice to the next level.

 

Vinyasa Flow Yoga is all about the flow of breath to movement. For each inhale and exhale, we move into a new pose. Vinyasa can get aerobic at times, and often incorporates a focused core segment, so if you are looking for a good workout in addition to practicing the yoga asanas (postures) this is the class for you!

 

Gentle Stretching Yoga allows us time to move into the asanas slowly, first concentrating on slow, relaxing stretches, and breathing techniques. This type of flow brings grace, muscle tone, and focus to your practice. We move through yoga postures but at a slower rate that is a great way to stretch and tone your muscles.


Yoga is for every age and fitness level because it can be modified to accommodate what YOUR body needs. Whether you are 5 or 105, you can benefit from the practice of yoga. 

The Flow

In each class, we follow a sequence of movements that is designed to bring harmony and balance into your practice, and ultimately, into your life. While we "mix-it-up" a bit from class to class, the basic flow is as follows:


Integration Series:     Brings presence to your practice

Sun Salutations:         Awakens the mind and body

Abdominal Series:      Strengthens core, stabilizes entire body

Crescent Series:         Brings vitality and detoxifies organs

Balancing Series:        Provides equanimity

Triangle Series:         Provides grounding

Hip Opening Series:   Creates space

Spine Strengthening:  Ignites energy along spine

Forward Folding:        Provides release

Surrender Series:      Deep relaxation
